Hello and welcome to the Rowan Class blog.

I wanted to start by saying 'Hello' to all our new parents and 'Well Done' to all the children.  We have finished our first full week with very few tears, just one wobble (not from Miss Daley) and lots of laughter, so all in all it's been a great start to the new term.

Last week and this week our focus story has been Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs.
We have loved hearing about Harry and his friends and have used the story to help us practise our counting skills, and we also had a go at writing Harry's name.

During our child initiated sessions we had the chance to investigate some frozen dinosaur eggs and watch as they melted! We also helped to build a dinosaur habitat using soil, branches, leaves, conkers, and some water.

At Wellie Wednesday this week our whole class went out to explore the Forest School area.  We learnt how to stay safe and we played the '1,2,3 Where Are You?' game just in case Miss Daley needs to find us quickly.   (You might want to play this at home as the children have to jump out and come running when you shout the catchphrase!)

We've had so much fun in our first week and a bit of school and we hope it will continue throughout the year.

An extra large 'Well Done' to Harry R. for being our Star of the Week last week, and Levi for being Star of the Week this week.  We hope they enjoy their prizes.

Have a lovely weekend and we'll see you for more fun and learning next week.

Miss Daley,  Mrs. Brookfield, and Mrs. Carter.
xXx
